Fans of JD Cymru Premier clubs have long called for the league to be included in the FIFA franchise game.
The Welsh top flight, formerly known as the Welsh Premier League, has never featured in the popular EA Sports game.
However, that could be about to change after a poll was launched to ask fans what leagues they would like to feature in the next edition, which will be FIFA 21.
The poll has been launched by FIFPlay – a football gaming community website – which aims to help football game developers create games based on the opinions and ideas of fans.
Competing alongside the likes of the Veikkausliiga – the Finnish top tier – and the Indian Super League for a potential place in FIFA 21, the Cymru Premier has received more than 14,000 votes.

If the Welsh top flight was given the green-light to feature in the game, it would allow gamers to take charge of the likes of the current Cymru Premier champions Connah’s Quay Nomads, The New Saints and Bala Town.
Earlier this year, AM for Alyn and Deeside Jack Sargeant, called on the game’s creators to include the league, as well as the Wales Women’s team, in the next edition of the game, which is released in September.
“There is a real thirst from young Welsh Football fans to play FIFA as their hometown team,” said Sargeant.
“It can only be right that Wales, one of the world’s oldest football nations, is properly included on the game.
I want to see Welsh football used to promote our International profile.

I’ve called for the @CymruLeagues and @Cymru Women’s National Team to be on the next @EASPORTSFIFA.

“I am confident EA Sports will want to give their customers in Wales the same opportunity that residents in nations across the world are given.
“This is about taking Welsh Football to the world and promoting places across Wales on a huge international platform.”
