Norwich City and Trabzonspor interested in loaning Ethan Ampadu – reports

Norwich City are reportedly interested in loaning Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu. 

Ampadu, back in the UK, after a mixed loan spell at RB Leipzig, could leave Stamford Bridge again, albeit short-term.

Blues chiefs are willing to allow Ampadu to leave London once more for the aim of first-team football.

The Press Association report that the Canaries are interested in securing the Welshman on a season-long loan as they plan for an immediate return to the Premier League.

After making just seven appearances in total for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, Welsh bosses will be keen to see Ampadu feature more regularly at club level.

Norwich City, known for giving youngsters a chance, have already moved on quickly from their relegation by recruiting the Exeter City academy product.

Playing under Norwich boss Daniel Farke could give Ampadu the vital minutes needed to progress his career personally, with EURO 2020 coming up next year.

Norwich aren’t the only parties of reported interest of Ampadu however. 

Turkish outlet Karadeniz has linked Ampadu with a move to the Turkish Cup winners.

Ampadu had been linked to Trabzonspor in January but instead he remained in Germany.

Trabzonspor are managed by former Cardiff City midfielder Eddie Newton. Newton has been appointed on a permanent basis after leaving Chelsea six-months ago.

Given Newtown’s experience at Chelsea, he will know full well the talent of Ampadu, in his previous role of loan player technical coach.
