Bangor City sign four more new players for new season

Bangor City have made a quartet of signings ahead of the new Cymru North season.

Ignacio Torres, Juan Garcia, Mariano Barufaldi and Santiago Micucci have all joined the Citizens in recent weeks.

Micucci was the latest signing by manager newly-appointed boss Hugo Colace.

The full-back has been tracked by the Bangor boss since his time at academy level. 

Commenting on his move to Nantporth, Micucci said: “I’m very happy to have signed and I am grateful to be part of this great club.

“I will do my best to represent Bangor City and it’s fans, just as they deserve.”

Another signing is Mariano Barfaldi, a goalkeeper who joins having last played in homeland Argentina for Agropecuario.

The 27-year-old has also played for Huracán de Goya and played in the Primera Nacional with both clubs.

“I am very proud to be part of the Citizens’ family and I want write my name into the history of this club, and to do so I will give my all,” said the shot-stopper after making the move to the second tier of Welsh football. 

Also joining Bangor City is central midfielder Juan Garcia.

The 28-year-old joins after spells in Argentina, Ecuador and I Italy.

Garcia has experience of playing in the top flight of Argentina after winning promotion with Banfield.

His last club was Atlético Porteño, an Ecuadorian second division side, where he racked up 22 appearances.

Expressing his delight to returning to Europe, Garcia stated: “For me it is an honour to return to Europe, after my time in Italy, Argentina and Ecuador.

“I come to Bangor City to contribute my experience and to give my all to service this great and historic club.

“I’m also thankful to the coaching staff and the president for trusting me and making me part of this beautiful project.”

Defender Ignacio Torres completes the four signings.

The central defender, like Garcia has played in a host of countries.

Torres has played in Italy, the United States and Uruguay. 

“I am very happy to join to this club and I am really looking forward to starting this new adventure with Bangor City,” said Torres upon his move to North Wales. 

Bangor City are expected to announce further signings today with one new face and a returning player.
