Lincoln City have been linked with a loan move for Welsh starlet Brennan Johnson.

Johnson, who is highly regarded by bosses at Nottingham Forest, could be set for a temporary departure after a host of midfielders were signed this summer.

The 19-year-old, who was called up to Wales’ senior squad this month, has been on the Forest bench in recent weeks, but a move to the League One outfit could benefit his development with an almost guarantee of first-team football.

The Athletic journalist Paul Taylor says that a move to Sincil Bank ‘could happen quickly’ after they stated their interest in signing the prospect.

So far in his career, Johnson made eight appearances for Forest last season.

For Wales, he has made four appearances for the U21s side after switching from England and as aforementioned, was named in the senior squad in September 2020.

Last season, Lincoln City had Bristol City and Wales youngster Joe Morrell on loan.

Morrell’s time in Lincolnshire proved beneficial as he was named Player of the Year and made his international debut whilst at Lincoln.

Two Welsh players in Aaron Lewis and Joe Walsh are already at Lincoln City.

They also have former Cefn Druids forward Ramirez Howarth on their books.
