Key talking points as Bala Town secure comfortable victory against Cardiff Met

Bala Town earned all three points in impressive fashion as they swept aside Cardiff Met with a 4-1 victory at Maes Tegid.

Chris Venables grabbed a brace while Will Evans got a goal against his former side and Antony Kay scored his first for the club as the Lakesiders struck four past The Archers.

Evans is the name!

Both Will Evans and Eliot Evans were on the scoresheet representing the opposing sides. Will Evans scoring at his new home against his former side. Eliot Evans was at the focal point of every Cardiff Met attack as they looked for a way back into the match after falling behind early on. Jordan Evans off the bench for The Archers gave a positive introduction too.

Venables bags another brace

The captain was suspended for the game in midweek but was back in the starting line-up and back on the scoresheet as he grabbed a brace against The Archers. He wasn’t too involved in the overall game. Although, when he was, he was scoring. Chris Venables his usual self with the striker instinct offering Bala that man they can depend on upfront.

Bala have quality in every department

The Lakesiders showcased they have title challenging quality. An exciting front three lead the line for Bala and they delivered. Henry Jones setting up two goals, Venables scoring two and Will Evans giving the home side the lead. In midfield, Oliver Shannon, Antony Kay and Steven Leslie combined to be a terrific trio.

Controlling the game and ensuring the home side remained dominant throughout. While in defence, Colin Caton decided not to rush the return of Nathan Peate to the starting line-up. Instead, sticking by the same back four that faced Aberystwyth in mid week.

With Ryan Pryce, Stephen Stephens, Johnny Spittle and Sean Smith all doing an outstanding job at limiting The Archers to very few opportunities. Alex Ramsay was as excellent as always in the Bala net, with not much he could have done about the one goal conceded.

Ryan Pryce a solid signing for the Lakesiders

The former Cardiff City defender signed pen to paper back in mid October and is looking like a valuable addition to Colin Caton’s side. Pryce proved a problem down the right hand flank when going forward all afternoon. He carried the ball with confidence at his feet. Comfortable at defending and was solid all afternoon playing a big part in a convincing victory for his side.

Strength in depth

They have the strength in depth of what a Cymru Premier title winner requires. Liam Davies, Lassana Mendes and Nathan Peate all came off the bench to make an appearance and ensure the Lakesiders left Maes Tegid victorious. Not to mention that Gary Roberts, Raul Correia and Kieran Smith were all absent for the home side.
