Alhagi Touray Sisay almost made return to Cymru Premier
Alhagi Touray Sisay almost made return a return to the Cymru Premier last month it has been revealed.
The 21-year-old was linked with a move to the Connah’s Quay but a move failed to materialise and ultimately they ended up signing Douglas Tharme, Johnny Hunt, Rio Gleam, and Tom Moore on deadline day.
Sisay was signed by Grimsby Town in the same by Ian Holloway but since his departure, he has been unable to force his way into Paul Hurst’s plans.
He has been limited to just 42 minutes of competitive action since his move into the professional game, both times as a substitute.
The Spaniard had a temporary spell at Cleethorpes Town but their season was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I think there was a chance of that happening,” Hurst told GrimsbyLive last month.
“That wasn’t anything I was directly involved in, but from what I was told, there was some issue in terms of clearance, so that didn’t happen.
“I think it’s probably become apparent already that he’s going to find it difficult to break into this first-team squad, and it would have been good for the lad to have gone and got some games.”
Before joining Grimsby, Touray had previously played five times for Aberystwyth, scoring four goals, including a hat-trick against Airbus UK Broughton.
Aberystwyth were unable to command a fee for Sisay when Grimsby came calling due the expiration of his contract.
