Danny Davies completes shock move from Nomads to New Saints
The New Saints have announced the signing of wing-back Danny Davies from Cymru Premier champions Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Davies, 25, becomes the Saints’ first signing of the summer.
The wing-back made 21 appearances for the Nomads, scoring twice and assisting seven.
“I was honoured that such a great club were interested in me”, he said.
“I knew they were interested in January but I was focused then on playing the year with Connah’s Quay, but when I became of contract [the move] was a good decision for me.”
Davies joined Andy Morrison’s side from his boyhood club Prestatyn Town, where he started his footballing career.
The defender also had a promising cricket career, playing for Northamptonshire and having three spells in Australia.
However, a significant injury to his Humerus sustained whilst playing football for Meliden against Prestatyn Sports brought his cricketing prospects to a cruel end.
Davies returned to football with Prestatyn Town, before joining Connah’s Quay Nomads.
After an impressive first season back in the Cymru Premier, Davies makes the move to title rivals The New Saints.
