Caernarfon Town sign Danny Gosset, Dion Donohue and Rob Hughes

Caernarfon Town have bolstered options with the acquisition of midfielders Daniel Gosset, Dion Donohue and Hughes.
Donohue, who returns to The Oval for a second spell, joins seven years after departing to play football in England. Gosset and Hughes meanwhile sign for the Canaries from Cymru Premier rivals Bala Town and Flint Town United.
After leaving Barrow, following a short-term deal where he made four appearances, Donohue has opted to return to the side in which he helped win the Welsh Alliance League with.
The 27-year-old, has been playing in the Football League since 2015, playing for the likes of Chesterfield, Portsmouth Mansfield Town and Swindon.
He has amassed more than 100 appearances for the listed sides, including four campaigns at the third level of English football.
Midfielder Rob Hughes, was also announced by Caernarfon, on the day they secured Donohue.
Hughes had been with Flint for the past season, making 13 appearances for Silkmen, scoring two goals.
Prior to joining Neil Gibson at Flint, he was previously on the books of Connah’s Quay and Rhyl.
Commenting on his move to Caernarfon, Hughes said: “I quit last year and then I got the call from Huw and thought it’s an exciting place to be, to play in front of the Cofi Army, and so I’ve signed up to hopefully score a few goals and get the team into Europe”.
Huw Griffiths added: ““Rob has a lot of quality, and I don’t think anyone can deny that. He’s a showman and playing in front of seven or eight hundred Cofis will be a great stage for him.”
Joining Donohue and Hughes is Gosset, who was announed as Caernarfon’s first piece of business of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old recovered from non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and made his awaited return to action in March 2021.
Commenting on Twitter, Gosset claimed, ”I would like to thank Bala Town, my teammates and everyone associated with the club for the last three years. My time with Bala has come to an end it’s been a tough decision but I feel it’s time to take on a new challenge…
“I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of such a fantastic club and for everything you have done for me.”
As a youngster, Gosset made his professional debut for Oldham Athletic in 2013, before representing an array of Cymru Premier sides including Rhyl, The New Saints, Bangor City and more.
A fan-favourite of the Cymru Premier, he represented Wales C in their 3-2 defeat to England at Jenner Park in 2018.
Gosset will be reunited with former boss Huw Griffiths, who he played for at Cefn Druids.
