Lee Kendall becomes Head of Goalkeeping at Fleetwood Town

Lee Kendall has been appointed as Head of Goalkeeping at Fleetwood Town.
Kendall, who left Cambrian & Clydach Vale in February 2021, will work alongside manager experienced Football League manager Simon Grayson.
His main role will be tasked with keeping keepers Alex Cairns, Joel Coleman, Billy Crellin and Szymon Czajor on their toes.
The 40-year-old had most recently been completing his UEFA Pro Licence with the FAW Trust. He has since obtained the qualification and is one of only five goalkeeping coaches to possess a Welsh UEFA Pro-License.
Prior to managing the Cam Army, he was at Taffs Well, but didn’t oversee a competitive match. He was also manager of Pontypridd Town, managing them to safety in the Cymru South.
Confirming it on their club website, a statement from the Lancashire side said: “Fleetwood Town can confirm the appointment of Lee Kendall as the club’s Head of Goalkeeping.
“Welcome to Fleetwood, Lee!”
Kendall held a similar role to the one he has recently been appointed in at Barry Town United, working closely with Gavin Chesterfield as first-team coach with the Cymru Premier side, helping them qualify for the UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
He makes a return to the professional game after previously working under Gary Speed at Sheffield United, before a move to Bristol City.
Internationally, Kendall has worked with the England Women’s national team, as well as Wales Under-21s, Under-19s and Under-17s squad.
In June 2019, he was tasked with working with the senior team for a training camp in Cardiff ahead of their UEFA EURO 2020 qualifiers.
Outside of Welsh domestic football, Kendall had spend the last three-and-a-half years working full-time at the University of South Wales. He was their Head of Football, leading their UEFA coach education programme. During his time at the USW Sport Park, Kendall led the University to the BUCS National title.
