Dinas Powys 3-3 Treharris Athletic Western: Six goal thriller sees league leaders held

Dinas Powys and Treharris Athletic Western played to a six-goal thriller with Nana Baah’s side coming back from 3-1 to salvage a point.


A massive chance came and went for the hosts, there was some good play on the left-hand side but Ryan Garland put his free header wide.

Camero Gauci then got slipped in for a one-on-one with the Treharris keeper but Marcus Clyne got the better of him.

Against the run of play, Dinas Powys took the lead. A superb ball into the box from the right-hand side from Sam Cawley found Rameer Law who scored with a bullet header from two yards out.

Dinas Powys had a last-time equaliser before the halftime whistle, however. A good corner ball was put into the box and Luke Birnage got highest to nestle into the back of the net off the far post.

Quickly after emerging from the changing rooms, Dinas Powys then took the lead. A superb individual finish from Gauci gave them the advantage they needed.

There was then a penalty for a push in the back.

Despite seeing their spot kick saved, from the resulting corner Dinas headed home again! Birnage rose highest to give the Powys the lead.
