Ruthin started the game very brightly; they came out the blocks fast and forced a save out of keeper Shaun Pearson from a curling shot just outside the area.

Danger soon came Ruthin’s way from a Morgan Owen long throw, the throw deceived everyone and nearly sneaked in at the far post. The post had other ideas.

Eleven minutes in and the breakthrough was made. A brilliant through ball from Marc Williams saw Shaun Cavanagh latch onto it and finished well past the keeper.

Matthew Hill went close after the 25-minute mark hitting a beautiful shot from range that just didn’t curl in enough for the Ruthin man.

Cavanagh found himself through on goal once again ten minutes from halftime. A floated 40 yard pass from Aron Jones found Cavanagh perfectly but he was unable to beat the keeper that time. The keeper stood his ground and saved well.

The second half saw yet another even half of football. Both sides were playing the ball along the ground nicely looking to play through each other.

The first chance of the second half fell to Cavanagh once again. He lined up a free-kick from just outside the penalty area, struck it nicely but the keeper was up to the challenge yet again and handled well.

Llandudno right back Morgan Owen started a fantastic attack with yet another pinpoint long ball found Lee Thomas on the right-hand side, he laid it off to Cavanagh who saw his strike go just wide.

Ruthin pushed for an equaliser late on but couldn’t find the finishing touch. Tom Dyer came close with a header in the 90th from a free-kick whipped in from the left-hand side but the Seasiders held on to take the three points.
