Cardiff Bluebelles 2-0 Caldicot Town: Chapman and Moger on scoresheet in Bluebelles win

Cardiff Bluebelles opened their account in the Adran South with a 2-0 victory over Caldicot Town at Llanrumney University 3G.

The home side kicked off the season with goals from Molly Chapman and Hannah Moger.

Molly Chapman scoring in the opening 15 minutes of the game with a cool composed finish past Owen.

Hannah Moger added a second in the initial stages of the second half with a brilliant run and finish.

The first effort of the game went to the away side following Morger delivering a ball over the top to Molly Chapman who has her effort at the back post going past the post.

Sophie Ford had an effort from a distance as her effort went just wide past the goal.

A close opportunity soon followed as Ashleigh Harris had her effort going just over the bar from 30 yards out.

A goal soon came when Erin Flynn crossed the ball towards Molly Chapman who slotted home from close range.

Caldicot responded with a midfield display from Molly Williams holding the midfield keeping it align to prevent a possible second goal.

Erin Flynn turned provider into a shot taker as she struck a ball from outside the box into the hands of Bethan Owen.

Hannah Moger had an effort of her own as she ran onto the left side as Bethany Owen saved to deny the Cardiff Bluebelles forward.

Erin Flynn collected the ball as she let strike a shot that hit the crossbar as a rebound from Moger was blocked.

Bethan Owen was to the rescue as she prevented two great goalscoring Opportunities.

First being from Rebecca Jones at a distance that was saved by Owen with her fingertips.

A rebound from that effort was taken by Chapman which was saved brilliantly with a shot that was going into the top left corner of the net.

That was the last moment of the half as it was an end-to-end game with the Bluebelles dominating most of the half along with having the one-nil lead.

Following a through ball to the left side, Hannah Moger ran past Molly Williams and Abby Rose who could not catch up with the forward who fired her at the left corner.

The shot was nearly stopped by Bethan Owen, but she could not get a strong enough hand as it looped over her.

One of the newest signings for Caldicot, Molly Williams made her presence known as she hit a free-kick to the left side as Ashley Harris had her effort going over the bar.

The Bluebelles had a corner as the ball was it in Hannah Moger struck a half volley which was caught well by Owen.

Rebecca Jones had a free-kick from a distance as her effort hit the top of the net to nearly grabbing a third for the hosts.

Annie Redding had the last chance of the game as she had her effort going wide past the post from a Williams delivery.

The game was fairly contested by both sides but Caldicot Town did not provide a real opportunity for Kirsty Lewis to save compared to the opposition keeper Bethan Owen.
