Wales to face Poland, Netherlands and Belgium in Nations League

The draw for the Nations League has been completed and Wales will face Poland, Netherlands, and Belgium.

Top seeds Belgium are drawn again with Wales after being in the same World Cup Qualifying group.

Belgium won the first meeting in World Cup Qualifying 3-1, but Wales earned a draw in the return match in Cardiff. Wales have a decent record against the Red Devils having knocked them out of Euro 2016. A 3-1 quarter-final win for Wales after the teams faced off in qualifying.

The sides also met drawing in qualifying for Euro 2016 with Wales getting a goalless draw in Belgium. Gareth Bale got the only goal in the return fixture in Cardiff as Wales recorded a famous win.

Wales have beaten Poland just once in their first meeting in 1973. Poland have won the last four meetings.

They will also face the Netherlands a nation they have never beaten. The Dutch having won all eight meetings. The worst being a 7-1 defeat for Bobby Gould’s side in Eindhoven in November 1996. Dennis Bergkamp netting a hat trick.

Matches will start from June 2nd 2022 with four games between then and June 14th. The final two games will be playing in September from the 22nd to the 27th.

Wales will be in League A for the first time after winning League B 4 in the last iteration of the Nations League. Wales went unbeaten winning five of their six games and conceding just one goal as they topped the group.

Rob Page’s side are in the top league they will have the chance to make the Nations League finals. France won the last finals beating Spain.
