Llandudno Ladies have been crowned the first winners of the Adran North after they beat 3-2 title challengers Wrexham on a dramatic final day.

Jasmine Dutton and India Hassall twice responded to goals from Amber Lightfoot and Tonicha Dickens to win the league title in the first season of the newly formed division.

Lightfoot fired home in the fourth minute to net the opening goal of the game but Dutton issued the perfect response as she scored a free-kick from 30-yards out to level proceedings six minutes later.

A lobbed effort from Dickens five minutes from half-time gave the Red Dragons the lead with one hand on the trophy.

But just before the hour mark, Hassall rounded goalkeeper Delyth Morgan to level once more before netting the match and league-winning goal a minute from time.

Out of the 14 games they played, they scored 75 goals and conceded just 18. The Seasiders dropped points on just two occasions, losing to Wrexham in December, whilst drawing with Bethel Ladies.

Despite their triumph, neither Llandudno nor second-placed Wrexham are in contention to play in the Adran Premier next season after both opted not to apply for the Tier One Licence.

Initially, a play-off was meant to take place between the winners of the North & South, though with no representative from the North entering, the team that wins the South division, will win automatic promotion.

That leaves Abergavenny Women, the current league leaders of the Adran South, or Briton Ferry and their nearest title challengers, to take up their place in the Welsh top flight, should they pass the licencing.
