The South Wales Football Association have this evening announced the format and schedule for the South Wales Alliance League play-offs.

Seven teams have won their respective seventh-tier leagues and will now compete for the three places on offer.

Playoffs have been used by the South Wales FA for a number of years and a few teams will be competing in them for the first time whilst others will be vying for promotion again.

A preliminary round match was arranged with all-league winners ranked on a points-per-game basis with the two lowest scorers facing a preliminary match.

It will involve Port Talbot League winners Margam Youth Centre against Penarth Town of the Vale of Glamorgan League which will take place at Cwrt-yr-Ala Road on Saturday, May 14 at 14:00.

The winner of the preliminary tie will then play at the finals which will be held a week later at Penybont’s SDM Glass Stadium on Saturday, May 21.

The first match will take place at 11:00 am between Taff & Ely Rhymney Valley League winners Church Village and Cardiff Combination League winners Fairwater.

Following that Cardiff & District League winners Tongwynlais will face Brackla of the Bridgend Premier Division at 14:00 pm.

To finish off the day, the winner of Margam Youth Centre/Penarth Town will face Penygraig United of the Rhondda & District League at 17:00 pm.

Should the ties finish level after the 90 minutes, extra time will be required as well as the lottery of penalty kicks.
