Sparkling first-half show gives Newtown convincing win over ten-man Pontypridd

Newtown eased their relegation worries as they beat Pontypridd United 4-1 to move out of the drop zone and drop the Dragons in it.

Aaron Williams scored a penalty in between a first-half brace from Louis Robles to give the Robins a commanding first-half lead. Substitute Henry Cowans scored minutes after his introduction to emphasise the victory. 

Kurtis Rees pulled a goal back for the Dragons at 3-1 but in the midst of the celebrations, Clayton Green was dismissed. 

Pontypridd move down to 11th whilst Newtown move a place above them to 10th with a point now separating the two teams. Haverfordwest County lost 2-1 to Aberystwyth Town in the other game.
