A brace from Tom Walters helped Briton Ferry Llansawel to a 2-1 win over Ynyshir Albions. Ynyshir went two behind in the space two minutes early in the first half but within six minutes of the second they were back in the game via the penalty spot.
Tom Walters opened the scoring in the 13 minute as the visitors capitalized on their early pressure. Just a minute later Walters doubled the Reds leads albeit from a fortunate effort. Ynyshir however did not fold and were awarded a penalty in the 20th minute. Scott Jones stepping up to pull the Buns back to one down.
Briton Ferry remain in second place in the Cymru South nine points behind leaders Barry Town. Ynyshir remain bottom but are now six points behind Ammanford who drew at Barry.
The visitors had the best of the early chances and Tom Walters had a chance to break the deadlock. Connor Goldsworthy swung a free kick into the box from the right and found the head of Kris Evans. Evans headed the ball back across the box where Tom Walters was to met it but he shot wide of the target.
The early pressure from the visitors told and soon after Walters gave them the lead. Tyler Brock with the pass into the box where Walters had space and time to slot past Harry Webber.
just a minute after and Walters made it two. As Ynyshir tired to clear their lines from Connor Goldsworthy free kick the ball fell to Walters. Walters with a scuffed shot, which looked to deceive Webber and give the Reds a two goal lead.
Ynyshir came back into the game and pushed forward winning a free kick in the Briton Ferry half. The free kick was swung into the box and as Ferry tried to clear there was a foul and the Buns had a penalty. Scott Jones stepped up to take the spot kick and calmly sent the ball into the bottom corner sending Rhys Wilson the wrong way.

Early in the second half Tyler Brock almost restored Briton Ferry’s two goal lead. Jasper Payne with the ball to Brock but his close range effort was saved well by Webber.
Luke Bowen whipped a ball into the box with power and pace. The ball looked to be sneaking in but an alive Webber got down well to save.
Bowen soon had another chance as he broke in on goal. Hitting a low shot he just missed the post and Ynyshir were let off.
Leon Anstee picked up the ball and sent a ball into the box which found Carter Campbell. Just as if looked like Campbell had a shooting chance ball ran into the hands of Rhys Wilson.
With the clock running down Ynyshir pushed and were awarded a free kick. Zach Philpott lined up the kick and his effort went skimming over the bar.
Ferry did get a third as Brock and Walters combined in the box but Walters who put the ball over the line was judged to be offside.
Deep into added time and there was one more chance for the Buns to level. Joseff Haig hitting a shot from distance with pace that forced Wilson to tip over.
