The Cymru Premier has produced plenty of memorable title races, dominant spells and surprise champions since its formation in 1992.

But how well do you remember the managers who guided those clubs to Welsh football’s biggest domestic prize?

Our quiz challenges you to name every manager to have won the Cymru Premier from Cwmbran Town’s triumph in 1992-93 to The New Saints’ latest success in 2025-26.

Before you take it on, there’s one particularly striking statistic worth knowing: The New Saints have won the title more times than any other club.

The New Saints have dominated Welsh football

If there is one club that has come to define the Cymru Premier era, it is The New Saints.

Their first title came in 1999-00, when the club ended the decade with their first taste of Welsh top-flight success. It would prove to be the beginning of a remarkable period of sustained success.

The New Saints went on to win three consecutive titles between 2004-05 and 2006-07, before adding another championship in 2009-10.

Then came their most dominant spell. They won the title in eight of the nine seasons between 2011-12 and 2018-19, with only Connah’s Quay breaking their run in 2019-20 and 2020-21.

The New Saints returned to the summit in 2021-22 and haven’t looked back since.

They went on to win four consecutive Cymru Premier titles from 2022-23 to 2025-26, taking their total to an extraordinary 18 league championships since the competition began in 1992.

That puts The New Saints firmly at the top of the all-time list of champions, with their remarkable consistency making them the defining club of the modern Welsh top flight.

Barry Town enjoyed their own golden era

Before The New Saints established themselves as the dominant force, Barry Town were the club to beat.

Barry won four consecutive championships from 1995-96 to 1998-99, becoming the first club to put together a sustained run of dominance in the league’s early years.

They added another three titles between 2000-01 and 2002-03, meaning Barry Town collected seven championships in total during the period covered here.

Their run of success makes them the second-most successful club on the list. It’s been 23 years since their last success.

It was an extraordinary period for the club, particularly given how young the Cymru Premier was at the time. Barry’s dominance helped establish the league as a competition capable of producing dynasties rather than simply one-off champions.

Now, can you name every winning manager?

That’s where things get considerably harder.

Remembering the clubs that won the Cymru Premier is one thing. Recalling the manager standing on the touchline when each title was secured is another altogether.

Over the years, several managers have etched their names into Cymru Premier history by guiding their teams to league success. While some managers have won the title just once, others have enjoyed repeated success, with a select few winning the league on multiple occasions.

The list features managers with varying levels of success, making it interesting to see which names have been responsible for the most title-winning campaigns. Can you work out how many times each manager has won the league?

Can you work your way through every championship-winning campaign and name the manager responsible?

From the early years of Cwmbran Town, Bangor City and Barry Town to the long-running dominance of The New Saints, this is a proper test of your Welsh football knowledge.
