Caernarfon Town have secured their first signing of the summer transfer window, bringing in former Bangor City defender Jordan Piggott.
Piggott joins from AFC Telford United, where he spent the last four years. He previously had a spell with Bangor City during the 2018/19 season, but has otherwise built his career in the English non-league system.
A product of West Bromwich Albion’s academy, Piggott has also featured for Scottish Premiership side Dundee. His other clubs include East Fife, Alvechurch, Halesowen Town, Sutton Coldfield, Solihull Moors, and Gloucester City.
This season, he made 44 appearances in National League North, scoring three goals and helping his side keep nine clean sheets, as they finished 11th despite managerial changes, despite the departure of manager Gavin Cowan, who is now in charge of EFL League Two side Shrewsbury Town.
The Canaries are assembling their squad ahead of their UEFA Conference League campaign, following their maiden Welsh Cup win, marking their second venture into European competition. Richard Davies has signed a defender who leaves the New Bucks Head as a highly popular and influential figure.
AFC Telford United received a heartfelt farewell message from the departing player following four years at the club.
In his message, he paid tribute to the club, staff, and supporters for their support during his time at the New Bucks Head “I’d just like to say a huge thank you to everyone at AFC Telford United, and to all the fans for welcoming me in and showing me incredible support over the last four years.
It’s been a privilege to be part of such a fantastic club, and I’ll always be grateful for the memories, friendships, and loyalty shown to me through my time there.
I wish everyone connected with the club nothing but success moving forward.”

Caernarfon Town’s UEFA Conference League campaign
Caernarfon are set to embark on their second European campaign, having made their debut in 2024. On that occasion, they faced Polish giants Legia Warszawa, losing 11–0 on aggregate across two legs.
This time, they will be hoping for a more favourable draw, although their limited European experience means they are among the lowest-ranked sides in the competition.
The first qualifying round draw takes place on Tuesday, June 16, with ties scheduled for July 9 and July 16.
Notable teams in the draw include KF Shkëndija, whom Haverfordwest County have previously beaten, although more recently they overcame The New Saints in their latest meeting with Welsh opposition. NIFL Premiership side Linfield are also in the draw as seeded entrants, alongside Paide Linnameeskond of Estonia, who defeated Bala Town in 2024, and FC Astana of Kazakhstan, famously beaten by TNS in the League Phase.
Caernarfon’s European home venue has yet to be officially confirmed, but with the club spending the entirety of the 2025/26 season at Llandudno, there is hope they will be able to host their matches in Caernarfon itself.
Meanwhile, Caernarfon will also host three matches at the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals in North Wales this summer, with Italy, Serbia, Croatia, and Ukraine set to feature on the new pitch.
One player who will embark on that journey is club legend Darren Thomas, who has committed to the club for another season, which will take him to when he turns 40. Dubbed ‘The Cofi Messi’, he made a total of 28 appearances across three competitions last term with three assists and a goal.
