Dragon Bet’s latest prices point to some strong favourites in the Ardal Leagues North East and North West this weekend, with one side particularly heavily fancied

The Ardal Leagues North Wales programme delivers another full slate of fixtures this weekend, with the latest Dragon Bet prices offering an interesting guide to where the biggest expectations lie.

There are several games where the market gives one team a clear advantage, while others look considerably harder to call.

In the Ardal North East, FC Queens Park are the standout favourites as they welcome Carno, with the hosts priced at just 1/5 for victory.

There are also strong home selections in the shape of Builth Wells, Corwen and Knighton Town, all priced at 8/11.

Meanwhile, the North West contains some of the shortest prices of the weekend, with Llannefydd and Prestatyn Town both priced at 3/10.

The fixtures listed below are scheduled for October 9 and 10, with the Ardal Northern competition confirming the weekend programme.

FC Queens Park the team Dragon Bet fancy most in North East

FC Queens Park are the clearest favourite across the Ardal North East fixtures.

They are priced at 1/5 to beat Carno, with the draw at 11/2 and an away win available at 5/1.

That makes Queens Park comfortably the shortest-priced team in the division this weekend.

The table context also makes the selection understandable, with Queens Park sitting second behind leaders Penycae. Carno, meanwhile, are 11th.

The other home sides attracting plenty of confidence are Builth Wells, Corwen and Knighton Town, all priced at 8/11.

Builth Wells face Kerry, Corwen take on Radnor Valley, and Knighton welcome Cefn Albion.

All three visitors are priced at 11/8, while a draw is 10/3 in each match.

There is a particularly interesting contest at the top end of the table when Dolgellau Athletic host leaders Penycae. The home side are 5/6, with Penycae 5/4 and the draw 3/1.

That is one of the fixtures where the market is giving the home side the edge despite Penycae’s position at the top of the standings.

At Rhos Aelwyd, meanwhile, Llangollen are the away side fancied by Dragon Bet, with the visitors priced at 5/6 compared with 5/4 for Rhos Aelwyd.

Llannefydd and Prestatyn Town are heavily fancied in North West

The Ardal North West has two particularly eye-catching favourites.

Llannefydd are priced at just 3/10 to beat Connah’s Quay Town, while Prestatyn Town are also 3/10 to win away at Broughton United.

Llannefydd’s price is backed up by their position near the top of the division. They are second in the table, while Connah’s Quay Town are down in the lower reaches.

The fixture also comes after Llannefydd’s impressive 6-1 win at Bethesda Athletic on October 3, adding further interest to their weekend meeting.

Prestatyn Town are another side attracting strong market support.

They are third in the table and make the trip to Broughton United as clear favourites. The visitors are 3/10, with Broughton 10/3 and the draw 7/2.

Llangefni Town are another strong home selection, priced at 8/13 against Llay Welfare.

That fixture sees the home side favoured despite Llay having made a strong start to the season, and it is another example of where Dragon Bet expects home advantage to tell.

At the other end, Trearddur Bay are the clear away favourites at Penmaenmawr Phoenix. They are priced at 8/13, with the hosts at 13/8.

Trearddur Bay sit top of the table, making this one of the clearest cases where the league standings and the Dragon Bet prices point in the same direction

The games where Dragon Bet sees the closest contests

Not every game comes with an overwhelming favourite.

Nefyn United v Pwllheli is one of the more intriguing fixtures, with Pwllheli at 5/6 and Nefyn at 5/4.

Pwllheli are fifth in the table, while Nefyn are seventh, so there is not a huge gap between the two sides in the standings.

Mynydd Isa v Y Felinheli is similarly close. Mynydd Isa are 5/6, with Y Felinheli at 5/4.

The North West also has a fairly competitive-looking meeting between Llanrwst United and Kinmel Bay, although the home side are given the edge at 8/11.

The biggest gap in the prices, however, remains at Llannefydd and Broughton, where the market is strongly pointing towards the visiting Prestatyn and home side Llannefydd respectively.

The weekend’s shortest and longest prices

Looking across both Ardal North Wales divisions, FC Queens Park are the shortest-priced side at 1/5.

Llannefydd and Prestatyn Town follow at 3/10, while Llangefni Town are 8/13 and Trearddur Bay 8/13.

At the other end, Carno are the least fancied team, with their away victory at FC Queens Park priced at 5/1.

Broughton United and Connah’s Quay Town are both 10/3 away from home, while the other North East visitors are generally priced between 5/4 and 11/8.

So, if the Dragon Bet prices are being used as the guide, the headline selections are clear: Queens Park, Llannefydd and Prestatyn Town are the three standout favourites, while Trearddur Bay and Llangefni Town are also strongly fancied.

The prices are, of course, a measure of market expectation rather than a guarantee of the result, and the Ardal Leagues have already produced plenty of surprises this season.
