Garden Village have announced that former Swansea City and Scunthorpe United midfielder David D’Auria has been appointed as their new First Team Manager.
The 1994 Welsh Cup winner replaces former manager David Rimmer after stepping down as First Team Manager a few weeks ago and the club have appointed his successor quickly.
The 47 year-old had already been to the club as First Team Coach back in April of last year by then-manager David Rimmer.
D’Auria will bring experience from both the English and the Welsh pyramid system, featuring for clubs like Barry Town, Llanelli and Neath as well as Hull City and Chesterfield.
Club Secretary Nick Elias stated ‘we are delighted to have someone of D’Auria’s quality in charge of the 1st Team, and hopefully we can improve on last season’s league standing and progress as a club. David is very well respected member of the club and we have every confidence in his ability to step up to the role’. ‘One of David’s visions is to promote the Youth Players to supplement the already talented squad we have here at Garden Village, and progress them through to the 1st Team.
The plans are already in place for next season and we are looking towards the 2017/2018 season with an element of excitement. It is a new chapter for Garden Village as a club’
Last season’s coaches Kevin Murphy and Rob Thomas will make up part of David’s backroom staff, and there is certainly the element of excitement back in the club for the new season.
