Bangor City have added to their ranks this summer with the signing of experienced defender Danny Holmes.
The 28 year-old last played for National League North side York City, as they were relegated from the Vanarama National League side.
Holmes gave an interview to the York Press back in June after his sides relegation and said he was looking to stay at the club.
“I told the gaffer I wanted to stay straight away and he wanted me to, as well, which was great for me.
Holmes though instead rejected a new deal at the club and has decided that a move back to the Welsh Premier League is the move for him.
York City boss Gary Mills spoke towards the end of last month on Holmes decision to reject a new deal at the club.
“Danny Holmes was offered a contract that I thought he was going to sign but, at the last minute, he’s decided against that.
The Birkenhead born-defender has experience in the Welsh Premier League, having played in the division before for two years with The New Saints, where he won the Welsh Premier League title and the Welsh Premier League Cup.
He then moved from Park Hall and departed for a move to the Football League, playing a total of four years at Tranmere Rovers, before their relegation to conference football.
Holmes then returned to the Football League, moving to South Walian side Newport County as the club challenged for the play-offs, only to narrowly miss out.
In the summer of last season, he moved to ambitious National League North side AFC Fylde where he played half-a-season before moving to York City, where he was part of their FA Trophy winning squad, although they suffered relegation in the same season.
Overall Holmes has made 324 appearances in professional and semi-professional football, scoring seven goals in the wing-back position.
Made up to sign for @bangorcityfc and I’m hungry to win more things as well as seeing what the future holds for my life path 👍🏻
