Ryan Giggs could be dealt with a selection blow with Gareth Bale likely to miss next months triple-header of fixtures.

After joining Tottenham Hotspur on loan, medics at the London club have found that Bale has an injury which will keep him out for four weeks.

It means Bale is almost certain to miss Wales’ three matches next month which includes a friendly against England and a double-header against Bulgaria and Ireland.

The Daily Mail reports that Bale has been placed on an intensive training programme after sustaining an injury whilst on international duty with Wales earlier this month.

Bale played the full match in Wales’ 1-0 victory over Bulgaria but was pulled off at the break in their win over Finland.

The 31-year-old has had minimal game time and his recent outings with Wales has taken his match action up to jus 215 minutes of action since February.

Bale’s absence would be a huge blow to Wales’ Nations League plans, since he has captained the side.

Ryan Giggs’ men are currently top of the group after winning their first two fixtures.

They did this in the absence of Wales’ two other influential players Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen.
