Futsal Club Cardiff 6-4 Swansea University: Maynard nets hat-trick to defeat defending champions

Futsal Club Cardiff inflicted a 6-4 defeat onto defending national champions Swansea University in their opening game of the FAW Elite Futsal League.

Despite battling back from a three-goal deficit after trailing 3-1 in the first half, Swansea were powerless to resist a potent Cardiff attack that chose the right times to score.

Dean Maynard scored a hat-trick, including two in the final five minutes, meanwhile, Josh Allen had a brace with two goals in either half, as well as captain Rhys Williams, who netted Cardiff’s first goal.
