FC United of Wrexham came from behind to clam a win in their last game of the FAW Elite Futsal Finals. Having been down by four goals during the game they turned it around in the final minute.
Liam Andrews scored in the 21 minute but Silva-Neto got his sides seventh after 23 minutes. The comeback started in the 27th minute as Tom Winsper put the ball in the net. Aston Jones finished his hat-trick in the 28th minute. David Hughes scored in 32 minute as Wrexham stared to build the pressure on their young opponents. The pressure on PF Cymru told as with two minutes left Malcolm Wareham levelled up the game. As the game entered the final minutes Liam Andrews got the goal that put Wrexham in front.
The first half saw PF Cymru take a commanding lead with Gerson Silva-Neto causing problems for the Wrexham team. Wrexham had spells of control but were not able to their chances. In the second half Wrexham pushed further up the court pressing the PF Cymru players. Wrexham’s pressure and determination helped them to get the goals to cliam a win.
PF Cymru will finish bottom of the North section of the Elite Futsal having lost all three games. Their side is very young and will have more chances at this level. FC United of Wrexham will finish in third spot having picked up on win from their three games.
PF Cymru stared quickly and with seconds had Gerson Silva-Neto in the Wrexham box. Silva-Neto fired in from close range to open the scoring.
Silva-Neto almost had his second as he turned quickly with the ball to create space but shot over the bar.
On four minutes Wrexham were level as Tom Winsper’s low pass into the box found Aston Jones who tapped in.
Wrexham were having some good chances, keeper Adam Bryan had a shot blocked. Liam Andrews tried an overhead kick but put it wide.
Wrexham would rue those missed chances after seven minutes as Silva-Neto put PF Cymru back in front. A quickly taken corner found him in space and he sent a low drive into the goal.
After eight minutes Silva-Neto ran past three defenders to set Jakub Bryla for a tap in.
Wrexham keeper Adam Bryan was caught out of his goal as a quickly played ball to Dafydd Paynter allowed to find the net. Wrexham would go and score straight after as Aston Jones got he goal from close range. It was an action packed minute as PF Cymru’s Luke Edwards-Phelan went down the other end and scored.
In the 19 minute PF Cymru were able to extend their lead as Edwards-Phelan had a tap in at the far post thanks to a good ball across the box.

Wrexham stared well with Liam Andrews’ cross finding Aston Jones who headed just wide.
Liam Andrews showed great composure after 21 minutes with his chip over PF Cymru keeper Owen Smith. After winning the ball from a defender, Andrews went into the box and chipped the ball over the advancing keeper.
Wrexham were pushing throughout the second half and had a good chance on the counter. Andrews sent David Hughes off the wing but no one was able to get on to the end of it.
On 23 minutes the game looked to have gone the way of PF Cymru. Silva-Neto getting hold of the lose ball then finding the corner of the net.
Wrexham’s players kept fighting and began to press with more intensity and place PF Cymru players under pressure.
Liam Andrews hit a shot against the post after 26 minutes which came back off the post for Tom Winsper to tap in.
Andrews played the ball across the goal for Aston Jones to tap in the goal.
After 32 minutes David Hughes tapped in the far post to level the scores.
Wrexham kept the pressure on for the last few minutes as they sensed they could get the win. Aston Jones shot over and Malcolm Wareham flashed shot across goal. David Hughes also saw his effort cleared off the line.
In the final minute the pressure told and Wrexham had the lead. After good work out wide the ball was played across the goal where Liam Andrews was to tap in.

FC United of Wrexham and PF Cymru play their final game of the 2020/21 FAW Elite Futsal League.
Both sides are out of contention to progress to the national final after losing their opening two games. Wrexham suffered a 29-0 thrashing in their first game but earned a respectable scoreline against Luso Cymru, losing only 13-5.
