Flint Town United make treble of signings

Flint Town United have bolstered their ranks as they look to halt a recent run of poor form in the past month.

Joining the club are Matty Holt, Chris Rowntree and Chris Roberts, with the latter two involved in Flint’s 2-0 loss to Prestatyn two weeks ago.

Enjoying a relatively successful season so far, Flint sit fourth with eight wins from 14 games, but must put behind them a torrid month of November, where they lost three all three fixtures available to them.

Flint’s newest signing Holt is a product of Everton’s academy, with previous experience in Welsh football at an international youth level and domestic, having played for Rhyl and Caersws.

Speaking to the club’s official website, manager Aden Shannon spoke of his delight at securing Holt’s signature:

I’m delighted Matt has joined us, he will give us more options defensively, and he has lots of experience at this level of football”.

Midfielder Chris Rowntree joins the club and like Holt will need no introduction to the Welsh system with previous spells at gap Connah’s Quay Nomads and Conwy Borough.

Joining Rowntree and Holt is Chris Roberts, an ex Bangor City and Buckley Town defender.

The signings are clear evidence that Flint have a lot more planned for their season yet, as they look to break a glass ceiling that has seen them consistently perform whilst miss out on the top spot in recent seasons.
