Swansea University clinch promotion to Division One
Swansea University have won promotion to the FAW Championship today.
The Swans fought from behind as goals from Declan McCabe, Levi Hopeau and Marley Bishop-Wisdom secured promotion against the eight men of STM Sports in their final home game of the season.
After beating promotion rivals STM Sports, Dafydd Evans’ side secured a top three finish and are now closing in on a third consecutive title.
The club have won 11 out of their last 11 League games as they celebrate their success.
The promotion will be subject to them meeting the Football Association of Wales’ criteria for Tier Two.
However, the club is confident of obtaining the licence and taking their place in the first ever FAW Championship next season.
The Students have now won three back to back promotions as they continue a quick rise through the Welsh pyramid system.
They will now complete the season with away games at Careau Ely, Garden Village and Pontardawe Town.
