Craig Wells: Ynyshir Albions boss stands down, replaced by Hopkins

Ynyshir Albion’s have appointed Craig Hopkins after Craig Wells’ stood down as manager.
Popular figure Wells stood down following Ynyshir’s 2-1 victory over Abertillery Bluebirds.
Wells led Ynyshir to promotion to the Welsh League after multiple success as a player.
Assistant manager Daniel Lever has also stood down.
“Thank you to everyone for the kind messages and a special thanks to everyone at the club for all the hard work over the last four and half years,” said Wells.
“It’s been a brilliant period and I know there’s more still to come”
Ynyshir Albion released a statement regarding Wells’ departure: The decision was made some weeks ago but credit and thank you to Craig who would not make a sudden exit leaving the club without a manager and desperate for a replacement.
“We fully understand Craig’s reasons to step down, support his decision and are thrilled he will remain on the club committee.
Wells had a successful win rate of 71.1% after winning 109 games in the 152 matches he took in charge of the club.
Ynyshir have moved quickly to appoint Wells’ successor by appointing Craig Hopkins.
Hopkins moves up from his role as youth team manager to lead the Porth based side.
The former Buns player takes charge of his first game at Ynyshir Oval on December 21 as they host Penrhiwceiber Rangers.
Ynyshir Albions are currently sixth in the Welsh League Division Two.
