Ian Lewis calls time on Borth United tenure after eight years at the helm

Mid Wales League outfit Borth United have announced Clive Morgan as their new first-team manager.

Morgan will take up a player-manager role at the club when the 2020/21 season begins.

Borth and Morgan are awaiting the FAW’s announcement on whether they will be accepted to the Tier Three leagues after a successful certificate application.

Announcing his appointment on Twitter, Borth said: “We are looking forward to seeing the main man at work, hopefully, sooner rather than later.

Morgan has been named in the role after Ian Lewis stepped down from his managerial duties.

Lewis spent eight years at the helm, leading them to promotion to Division One in 2017.

Despite moving on from the management team, he will remain with Borth and will move on to a different role at the club.

Coach Bryn McGilligan-Oliver is also departing the Ceredigion based side following two years alongside the former United boss.

Thanking Lewis for his contribution, Borth said: “A big thank you from the club for all the hard work you’ve done that goes unnoticed.

“We are pleased to say though he will still be involved with the club. Thanks for everything Ian.”
