Briton Ferry take on Cardiff City in the FAW Women’s Cup final at Merthyr’s Penydarren Park on Sunday.

This is the showcase event in the footballing calendar, and both sides will be wanting to take home the trophy.

Briton Ferry come into this one off the back of one of the most difficult results in their recent history, losing against Wrexham last week, and therefore losing out on a spot in the Adran Premier. Rhys James has had the tough task of picking his team up and ready for the cup final. On their way to the final, Ferry have beaten Merthyr Town, Llanelli Town, Cardiff Wanderers, and Aberystwyth Town, the result and performance against the Seasiders in the semi-final a particularly impressive one.

After capping off their invincible season last weekend against Swansea City, Cardiff will be hoping to complete a double by winning the FAW Cup on Sunday. To get to this stage they have beaten Cascade YC, Pontypridd United, Llandudno and Cardiff Met. The victory against the Archers an important one, considering the Bluebirds were lacking many first team regulars. City beat Met in last season’s final and will be hoping to retain their crown.

Both of these sides have met before this season in the Adran Trophy. Iain Darbyshire’s side ran out 3-1 winners that day, but Ferry proved they could more than handle themselves against the most dominant side in Wales. Who will come out on top this time round?

Cardiff City: Ceryn Chamberlain (GK), Ffion Price, Hannah Power, Siobhan Walsh (C), Catherine Walsh, Danielle Broadhurst, Danielle Green (Mikayla Cook, 78), Meg Bowen (Lisa Owen, 68), Manon Pearce, Zoe Atkins (Phoebie Poole, 60), Eliza Collie (Rhian Oakley, 60)

Goals: Eliza Collie 22, Catherine Walsh, Ffion Price 41, Rhian Oakley 89′
