The New Saints will be without talisman midfielder Ryan Brobbel after he underwent surgery for a foot injury.
Brobbel announced on social media that the operation had been successful, confirming that he now faces a period of rehabilitation before returning to action.
The nine-time Cymru Premier winner has made nine appearances for The New Saints this season and remains an important member of the squad.
He was named among the substitutes for TNS’ win against Barry Town United at the weekend, but the injury has now required surgery and will keep him out for part of the campaign.

The New Saints midfielder faces spell on sidelines
Brobbel shared a photo of his left foot in a cast and bandages alongside an update on his recovery.
“Football can be cruel sometimes. Operation was a success; all plated and pin up! Time to come back stronger; the road to recovery starts now.”
Former Newport County and Bristol City forward Marlon Jackson replied to the post, writing: “Strong recovery brother.”
The midfielder will now begin his recovery following the procedure, with his absence leaving The New Saints without a player who has been a regular contributor during their Cymru Premier campaign.
Since joining The New Saints from Whitby Town in February 2016, Brobbel has made 372 appearances for the club, scoring 131 goals and providing 94 assists. He is approaching the 400-appearance mark and has also won five Welsh Cups and four Welsh League Cups.
The 33-year-old is one of the most decorated players in the league. Last season, he scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 31 appearances, missing just one league game. He was also handed the captain’s armband on several occasions.
Brobbel’s experience includes nine league titles, underlining his importance to the club and his standing in Welsh domestic football.
The New Saints fixtures Brobbel is set to miss
Brobbel is set to miss The New Saints’ immediate fixtures, with an away game at Airbus UK Broughton on 11 September followed by home games against Flint Town United on 15 September and Llandudno on 19 September. TNS then travel to Trefelin on 26 September. The length of Brobbel’s absence remains unclear.
