Haverfordwest County hope to overturn a 2-1 deficit when they host B36 Torshavn in the Europa Conference League.
The Bluebirds are still in the tie after Martell Taylor-Crosdale was on the scoresheet for the Welsh outfit 10 minutes from time. Hannes Agnarsson and Andrass Johansen gave the Faroese outfit a two-goal lead but now fans at the Cardiff City Stadium are hoping to see a repeat of what they did against Shkendija.
Haverfordwest trailed Shkendija 1-0 from the first leg but equalised through Leigh Jenkins in the 89th minute and then beat them on penalties. The West Wales side are the Cymru Premier’s sole representative in European competition following TNS’ elimination to Hesperange. It is likely that Wales will lose a European spot now, but Haverfordwest can at least try and get some coefficient points on the board with a positive result.
“We’re massive underdogs again for the second leg based on B36 and the record they’ve got in Europe,” first-team manager Tony Pennock said to BBC Sport Wales.
“But as we’ve done for the last few games and the play-offs last year the boys will always battle for us.”
In a potential blow, Haverfordwest could be without 14-time Wales international Jazz Richards. The 32-year-old was substituted off last week at half-time.
“Jazz knows his body better than anybody,” Pennock said.
“He is always honest and will let us know whether he can contribute to the team or not.
“We knew before the game he was struggling and at half-time he was honest to say he felt he wouldn’t do the best for us or the team if he stayed on the pitch.”
What time is kick-off?
Haverfordwest County v B365 Torshavn kicks off at the Cardiff City Stadium at 7.45 pm.
