Barry Town United take on Aberystwyth Town in the Adran Premier on Sunday, with both looking to push further up the table.
Games between these two are hardly ever quiet affairs, and with a chance for both to make some serious advances into the top four, both will surely put everything on the line at Jenner Park.
Having not had a superb start, Barry have really gotten into their groove in recent weeks. Picking up two wins from their last three league games, they have put distance between themselves and Pontypridd United, who currently occupy the bottom of the table. Their 3-0 win over the Dragons in their last outing was a real statement win, and the attack certainly looked like it clicked into gear, and there’s real excitement in and around the club.
Aberystwyth’s form on the other hand hasn’t been the best over the last three games. Three defeats on the trot against Wrexham, Swansea City and TNS have seen them slip out of the top four. However, last week in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup, they ended their run of defeats by hammering Rhyl 8-0 away from home. The young core have really helped Aber this season, and they’ll be looking to help them to another win.
These two met on the opening day of the season at Park Avenue, with the Seasiders coming out on top 3-0. There was a brace for Lily Moralee-Hughes, while there was also a goal for fellow youngster Lleucu Mathias. Will Aber get a second win of the season against Barry, or will the Linnets carry on their good momentum?
What time is kick-off?
The action gets underway at Jenner Park at 2.00 pm.
