Swansea City’s first ever head of women’s football, Alice Weekes, has left the club.

Weekes, who joined the Swans after being the partnerships manager at the Welsh Rugby Union, has been with the club since March 2024, but has departed her role less than a year after taking it on.

Weekes’ departure comes a few months after sporting director Paul Watson left his role with the club.

It is our understanding that Swansea have a new person in place to take on some of Weekes’ responsibilities until the end of the season.

“We are grateful to our head of football, Alice Weekes, who has now left Swansea Football Club. We appreciate her dedication and contribution to the team. In the interim, we will be filling Alice’s responsibilities internally through the end of the season.

“We are very excited about the future of our women’s football team and look forward to continuing our journey growing the sport and fanbase in Swansea and the surrounding areas.”

Swansea City currently sit fourth in the Adran Premier, with two league games remaining before the end of phase one.

It’s a busy week for Jamie Sherwood’s side, as they take on high-flying Briton Ferry in midweek, before facing TNS in the Adran Trophy final on Sunday evening.
