Former EFL Championship coach Tom Ramasut has taken the next step in his coaching career as he joins Cymru Premier side Cardiff Met, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the professional game.
Ramasut is a well-known figure within the Welsh game, both as a former player and coach. Born in Cardiff, he enjoyed a playing career that included spells with clubs such as Cardiff City, Bristol Rovers, Carmarthen Town, Barry Town and Haverfordwest County.
He transitioned into coaching after retirement and has spent over a decade developing his craft, most notably at the Bluebirds, where he worked his way through the academy system before stepping into senior roles.
Ramasut served as assistant manager with the Bluebirds and worked under a number of bosses, including Erol Bulut, Steve Morrison, Sabri Lamouchi and last season under Omar Riza, gaining experience in England’s second-tier environment.
His coaching journey has also seen him take on leadership roles within youth development, including spells managing and assisting Cardiff City’s youth sides, as well as earlier experience in the Welsh domestic game with Bridgend Town and Cambrian United.
Ramasut was already part of the coaching setup during Cardiff Met’s recent 2-1 victory over Llanelli Town, as the Archers continue to strengthen both on and off the pitch.
EFL Experience at Cyncoed Campus

Met’s coaching staff also includes Anthony Williams, who has coaching experience from the Football League, having worked at several clubs during his career.
The 48-year-old previously served as goalkeeping coach at Bury and also worked alongside Richie Barker as assistant manager at Crawley Town and Portsmouth.
A former Hartlepool United goalkeeper, Williams later took up a coaching role at Cardiff Met, working under Dr Christian Edwards. He then moved into management with Aberystwyth Town, spending two years at Park Avenue before returning to Cyncoed.

Attention now turns to Cardiff Met’s final three games of the season, as they fight for survival. A huge clash awaits against Bala Town this Saturday as the match-up could sign an end to Bala Town’s stay in the top flight.
A win for Cardiff Met would secure safety for the Archers, while defeat could see Bala relegated, should Flint Town United claim victory over bottom-placed and already relegated Llanelli Town.
Cardiff Met’s remaining three games:
Cardiff Met vs Bala Town – 28th March 14:30PM
Briton Ferry vs Cardiff Met – 3rd April 14:30PM
Cardiff Met vs Flint Town United – 18th April 17:15PM
