Bangor City sign four as Shaw becomes Citizens record-signing

Bangor City have broken their transfer record as they signed Brayden Shaw from Accrington Stanley alongside three other signings.

The club announced the news Thursday afternoon that a deal had been finalised for the 20 year-old and that he would b returning to Nantporth.

Having played for the side during the first phase of the season, where he made 18 league appearances fans know what to expect. With 4 goals and 7 assists to his name, his presence will add further strength to an already strongly bolstered the attacking options that manager Kevin Nicholson has to choose from.

Manager Kevin Nicholson spoke to the Bangor City website on securing Shaw for the season, expressing his delight in being able to work for him.

“We are delighted with the signing of Brayden. He has experience of the WPL following his spell with the club last season. We are excited about working with him in the upcoming season and expect him to positively impact our team.”

With Shaw joining from Accrington Stanley, that makes it three players now signed from the League Two side with Steven Hewitt already at the club.

The club also bolstered the defence, with the addition of Tom Kennedy, who had recently been released by Vanarama National League side AFC Flyde.

The 31 year-old defender who can play centrally and on the left side. With a vast amount of experience having played in the Football League, he is a valuable addition for the Citizens.

Assistant-Manager Gary Taylor-Fletcher spoke of how the club can use his versatility to the clubs advantage as they feel the squad is stronger with him in their side.

“Tom brings a wealth of experience and quality to the squad. He has a combination of a great attitude and work ethic with a real winners mentality. Tom can play in a lot of positions and we now feel that with his addition we have a far stronger squad and team than last year.”

The club also announced on Wednesday that they would be signing youthful winger Luke Wall alongside Blacon Youth and former Manchester City trialist, striker Sam Henry.

Wall, arrived from Accrington Stanley, just like Steven Hewitt and Bradley Shaw after being released by Blackburn Rovers. He has had experience in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side, playing for teams like Skelmersdale United, Clitheroe and Marine during the course of last season.

Henry, a prolific goal scorer who scored a staggering 31 goals in 17 games last season after recovering from a broken leg which saw him ruled out of action for 18 months. He has also already donned Bangor City colours having played in a pre-season friendly with the V9 Academy team.

Assistant-Manager Gary Taylor-Fletcher spoke to the Bangor City website on the signing of Luke Wall, who knows of Gary Taylor-Fletcher, due to their time spend together at the Wham Stadium.

“Luke is someone who has been training with the First Team squad and has shown great attitude. He’s a great prospect who will again improve our squad and he has shown the desire to make the most of his opportunity with Bangor City.”
