Blaenavon Blues on the hunt for new boss as Durham stands down

Gwent County Division One side Blaenavon Blues have been dealt a pre-season blow as manager Ryan Durham has been forced to resign as First Team Manager.

Durham, who has seen his team beat Upper Cwmbran FC 2-1 in their first pre-season friendly, is recovering from a serious knee injury sustained in March.  It seems that injury is still causing Durham issues and no doubt the continued treatment needed has meant it impossible to commit the time needed to manage the club.

The manager was in his second spell in charge of the Blues and was thanked by the club Committee in a Facebook statement announcing the news.

The club will have decided to seek a new manager externally and have since announced they are looking for a replacement.

The club would like to invite anyone interested in the position to get in contact with the club either via Facebook, Twitter or contact club chairman Lee Wathen via email wathen33@googlemail.com

The club complete in the 1st Division of the Gwent County league, with a reserve team competing in the Gwent Central league. We have a strong management committee with 13 members who work hard for the club and would fully support the new First Team manager.

The ideal candidate would have managerial experience at Gwent County league level or higher with a knowledge of local football. The candidate should be be able to motivate and guide a good group of young footballers.

The closing date for applications is in six days with a 17th July 2017 deadline.
