Welsh League DIVISION ONE side Ton Pentre have identified Kevin Richards as their new First Team Manager, as he returns to the Bulldogs for a second spell.
The Bulldogs were on the lookout for a manager after mutually agreeing to part ways with Lee Phillips following the clubs league winless to the season, but fortunes have improved after their recent Welsh Cup win against Cardiff Draconians, avoiding a potential banana skin.
And after a two-stage process which saw applicants apply and go through an interview stage, it is Kevin Richards who has been chosen to improve the fortunes of the club by the board.
Richards was one of the most successful managers in the clubs history, winning a total of FIVE Division One titles, as well as two Welsh Football League Cups, after a successful playing career with the club.
During his time as a player, he was part of the Ton Pentre side that competed in the Intertoto Cup against Dutch side Heerenveen, as well as appearing for Inter Cardiff against Scottish giants Celtic.
The 51 year-old manager resigned from his post as manager back in 2009 after 10 years of manager. Phillips represented the Walesh non-league international side in its early forms and worked alongside former Cardiff City assistant manager Scott Young back in 2004.
The newly appointed manager has already met the first team squad and will take charge of his first game back at the club this Saturday, as they welcome Briton Ferry Llansawel to Ynys Park.
