Brymbo FC manager Phillip Hudson has insisted that he was content with his side’s performance but believed his side lacked the creative style they are used to.
Hudson praised his defence for their performance in their 4-1 win over Saltney Town in the Welsh National League Premier Division.
Despite scoring four goals, Hudson insists they can do even better, but is happy they managed to pick up a win.
“We defended pretty well Saturday but it was a million miles away from the usual free flowing football we play.
We are delighted with the result as Saltney are a tough team who had only lost once previously and to come away with a 4-1 win against them when we are having an off day is really pleasing.
Heading into the game, Brymbo had won seven games in eight matches, but Saltney had lost just once in their nine fixtures.
But, despite a comfortable victory, the manager insists that his players can do a lot better, and that the performance in the 4-1 win was short of expectations for his players.
However, he has heaped the praise on his players for their work rate so far this season.
“Loads of positives to take from the game as we have played below par and got a good result with 4 key players missing and we now have them all back for Saturday’s game away to Llay welfare, we have now dropped the least points in the division and that’s testament to the workrate and ability of our lads.”
