Ben Heath appointed Prestatyn Town manager after coaching restructure

Ben Heath has been installed as the new manager of Prestatyn Town after a restructure of the clubs coaching team.

He replaces Ryan Turner who will remain at the club, taking a role amongst Heath’s backroom staff, which has seen a number of coaches join him at Bastion Gardens.

Tom Taylor will work as Heath’s assistant manager and the pair worked at Penycae. Taylor has previous experience of managing Buckley Town at Cymru North level.

Andy Jones has been placed as first-team coach to Heath’s backroom staff as they await the decision of Sport Wales to give the season the go-ahead.

Heath started his coaching career at Wrexham where he spent five years at and he’s also managed Corwen and Penycae.

He also has plenty of experience as a player playing in England, Northern Ireland and Wales for clubs like Cliftonville, Glenavon, Warrington Town, Connah’s Quay Nomads and Caernarfon Town.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “Firstly I am delighted to have been entrusted with the responsibility of leading such a famous club, I cannot wait to get started with the players and manage the best-supported team in the country.

“I am extremely grateful to be a part of the Prestatyn Town family and look forward to meeting and engaging with the fantastic local support that this club so proudly boasts. Having spoken at length with Jamie, I am confident that I can build a successful team for the fans of Prestatyn Town Football Club.”
