Cardiff City prospect thanks club with classy message after departure

Cardiff City defender Tom Davies has thanked Pontypridd United after he returned to the Championship following the end of his loan spell.

Davies joined the Dragons on a loan until the end of the season and played a big part in helping them secure survival in the first season of Cymru Premier football. The 19-year-old made nine appearances for Andrew Stokes’ side and registered four goals and two assists.

He tweeted: “Thank you to everyone at @PontyUnitedM for the second half of the season.

“I’m delighted we were successful in achieving our goals only losing 1 game in 10 to retain Cymru Premier status.

“I wish the players, staff, and everyone else at the club the very best in the future.”

His teammate Luke Cummings responded with: “Destined for the top. All the best @tomdaviess_,” as well as former Bluebirds goalkeeper George Ratcliffe, who said: “All the best son keep smashing it.”

Newport County loanee Jack Karadogan also signed off his loan with Pontypridd with a win. The 18-year-old was named man-of-the-match in the 3-2 win over Flint Town United on the final day of the season.

Karadogan made seven appearances for the club and got an assist in the 2-1 win over Caernarfon Town in their penultimate game. He joined at the same time as Harrison Bright, who made seven appearances and got an assist in the 4-0 win over Airbus.
