Huws Gray Alliane Round Up: Matchday Nine

League leaders Airbus proved their worth once again this weekend as they racked up nine wins out of nine in the league, after they beat Rhyl 3-0 on the weekend.

The victory saw the former JD Welsh Premier League side make clear headway as the favourites for the second tier title.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Buckley, Gresford and Guilsfield.

Buckley 4-0 Holywell

Buckley showed the ruthlessness in front of goal that secured them promotion last season as they beat Holywell 4-0. The home side took the lead on 12 minutes through Adam Eden. Buckley doubled their lead six minutes later thanks to Aled Bellis, and the Bucks went into half time with a 2-0 lead. Eden got his second of the game on 56 minutes and Josh Jones made it four on 80 minutes, to round off a stellar performance.

Rhyl 0-3 Airbus

Airbus continued their 100% record in the Huws Gray Alliance, with a 3-0 victory over Rhyl at the Corbett Sports Stadium. Leo Riley gave the league leaders the lead on five minutes. Rhyl headed into the break just 1-0 down, but Lewis Buckley’s second half brace sealed the win for the Wingmakers.

Llanrhaeadr 0-6 Gresford

Gresford ran out comfortable victors over league new boys Llanrhaeadr in a 6-0 away win. The visitors took the lead on 11 minutes through striker Sam Molyneux. Molyneux got his second of the match on 17 minutes, before a Tom Bailey own goal put the visitors 3-0 up on 23 minutes. Joe Newton extended the lead as he got the side’s fourth on 34 minutes, whilst Joe Roberts made it five before half time. It was a quieter second half for the visitors, but Roberts got his second five minutes into the second half to cap off a great result for Gresford.

Flint 1-1 Conwy

Flint and Conwy played out a stalemate this weekend, as Flint lost pace on league leaders Airbus. Dean Seager gave Conwy a 1-0 lead at half time. Flint bounced back in the second period, as Richie Foulkes equalised for the home side on 72 minutes, but it was only enough to secure a point.

Guilsfield 1-0 Holyhead

Guilsfield rose to ninth position with a narrow victory over bottom side Holyhead Hotspur. The only goal of the game came from Steven Blenkinsop, who gave the Guils the lead on 21 minutes. The hosts held out the visitors to secure all three points.

Porthmadog 6-0 Denbigh

Porthmadog continued their impressive start to the season with an emphatic victory over Denbigh. Rob Evans opened the scoring on 21 minutes and Dale Davies doubled their lead before the break. Davies went on to get his second of the match on 62 minutes, before Port finished in tremendous fashion. The home side went on to score three goals in the last eight minutes, thanks to goals from Shaun Cavanagh, Rob Evans and Ryan Taylor.

Prestatyn 1-1 Penrhyncoch

Prestatyn secured a hard earned point against Penrhyncoch this weekend that lifted them off the bottom of the table. Chris Bennett gave the Seasiders the lead on 38 minutes, but any hopes of victory were dashed in the final minute as Liam Lewis rescued a draw for Penrhyn with a last gasp goal.
