English non-league side Stourbridge have signed Alex Fletcher from Newtown.
Fletcher, who had two spells with Newtown, departs the Powys club for the Southern League.
The 23-year-old had been on trial with the Midlands club in recent weeks and following successful talks with Mark Yates, made his first outing for his new club on Saturday, featuring in a friendly against AFC Wulfrunians,
Central-midfielder Fletcher started 20 times for Chris Hughes’ side last season and scored two goals.
The season before that, he featured in all of the Robins’ Cymru Premier fixtures, including their play-off semi-final defeat to Bala.
In his three-and-a-half seasons at Latham Park, he accumulated 99 appearances.
Despite his departure, Newtown’s squad is still strong after a number of additions.
George Harry, George Hughes, Jake Phillips, Jamie Breese, James Davies, James O’Neill and Jordan Evans have all joined the Mid Wales club this summer.
