Haverfordwest County and Barry Town United could not be separated as they drew 1-1 at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.

Both goals came in the second half, as Kyle Patten gave the home side minutes after the restart before Kayne McLaggon levelled for the Linnets after 68 minutes.

Both teams had to find their footing early on the wet surface at Bridge Meadow. The home side settled the quicker and had the best of the early moments.

Jazz Richards played a good ball into the box finding the head of Keiron Lewis. Lewis could only send his header straight at Barry keeper Mike Lewis.

Richards hit another good ball across the box where he found Jack Wilson at the back post. With Lewis baring down Wilson could only find the side netting.

Richards was causing at sorts of problems for Barry down the right, sending a fine pass into the box for Kerion Lewis who’s snapshot went wide.

Barry had a great chance 13 minutes in as captain Kane McLaggon hit a shot from the edge of the area. Opening his body up McLaggon tried to curl the ball into the top corner. Lee Idzi having to fly across gaol to push it around the post.

Alaric Jones was in trouble when he brought down McLaggon as the Barry man was though on goal. The ref took his time and give the County defender a yellow card. Rhys Abbruzzese hit the resulting free-kick wide.

Latching on to a ball behind the defence Alhagi Sisay was though. Tracked all the way by Robbie Patten, Sisay was able to get a shot away but it was saved by Lewis.

Richards was needed at the back as Cotterill looked to get onto a poor pass. The former Wales International made a vital tackle to stop the attack.

Half Time: Haverfordwest County 0-0 Barry Town.

The Bluebirds came out the better after the break with a much quicker tempo than the first half. As the half wore on the Bluebirds started to sit back and allow Barry to have the ball.

County took an early lead two minutes into the second half. From a long throw from Jack Wilson, Barry failed to clear their lines and the ball fell Kyle Patten who stuck a low shot into the corner.

Curtis McDonald played a good chip into the box for Rhys Kavanagh. Kavanagh from close range saw his effort saved by Lee Idzi.

Iori Humphreys gave away a free kick on the edge of the box. Jordan Cotterill whipped the ball into the box that Idzi punched away but his punch went straight into the path of McLaggon who was just yards from the goal line to level the game on 68 minutes.

Jack Wilson received the ball from Richards and made a good turn on the edge of the box. Finding space to shoot he forced Mike Lewis to make a decent save from close range.

Marcus Day went close shortly after coming on cutting inside from the left, Day curled a shot just wide of the goal.

Day went close again as he spun away from a defender and fired over. Barry were putting pressure on their hosts so they looked to be the team that were looking for the win.

With a late free kick Barry Keeper Mike Lewis sent the ball into the box looking for Green. Idzi came to punch but collided with Green, earning a foul, which saw out the match.
