Welsh football’s feeder leagues are beginning to take shape after the Football Association of Wales’ allocations.

The North East Wales Premier Division didn’t see their Champions get promoted, and Greenfield may feel annoyed that they didn’t go up. They won the league last year (2021/22) and worked on their facilities but didn’t get an invitation to the Ardal Leagues this time around after a fourth placed finish.

Corwen have been relegated after finishing 14th in the Ardal North East, having won just four games in a 28-game campaign. They’re in the same league as Rhostyllen, who have also been relegated after finishing bottom. Rhostyllen were in the Ardal North West and won three games in a 26-game season.

Ruabon Rovers and Caerwys went up with Ruabon winning the league. It was a closely fought title race, but a 7-2 win for Ruabon over FC United of Wrexham saw them win the league on goal difference. Ruabon scored an impressive 136 goals and 37 of those were from Conner Kendrick and 32 from Andrew Swarbrick. Matthew Gilsenan and Jack Smallman were Caerwy’s star frontmen.
