Two former Wrexham players have found new clubs following their release from the Adran Premier champions this summer.
Abbie Iddenden and Hannah Snape were both released by the Red Dragons as part of a squad overhaul ahead of the club’s upcoming UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign.
Duo Join League Rivals
Following their release from Wrexham, Snape and Iddenden have together made the move to fellow Adran Premier rivals The New Saints. Both players played a key part in the squad that historically won their first top-flight league title last season.
Iddenden previously joined the Red Dragons from Stoke City in 2024, with the midfielder having a standout 24/25 campaign, scoring 17 goals across 25 games. Now with a new challenge at TNS ahead, she spoke to the club’s media following her move, saying;
“I’m really looking forward to joining the club and getting started with the girls. The past couple of seasons at Wrexham have been special, but I’m excited for a new challenge.”

Snape spent just one season at Wrexham, making 22 appearances for the club in their title-winning campaign.
Last season’s success is still fresh on the mind as the defender is targeting adding to her collection of Welsh silverware at her new club, speaking to the club’s media on their website, she said;
“I’m really excited to be joining The New Saints – I know TNS are a club with real ambition and I can’t wait to get started and hopefully add some more silverware to my collection.”
TNS finished fourth in the Adran Premier last season and will be gearing up for yet another competitive top-flight campaign.
Head coach Kieran Lee-Birch spoke about the two new additions to his squad on the club’s website, stating, “Hannah (Snape) is a fantastic person – having spoken with her throughout the off-season, I know she is going to be a brilliant addition around the team as well as on the pitch. She has a wand of a left foot and will make us stronger from set pieces with her delivery.
“With Abbie (Iddenden), we were very aware there was significant interest from other clubs, including English tier three sides, and we know how close we came to missing out. She is already prolific at this level and her profile and strengths will give this team new possibilities. It is a huge signing for us.”
Rosie Hughes seeks new club
With two players now having confirmed homes for next season, attention will turn to where Rosie Hughes ends up. A key figure during the club’s early years, Hughes was the focal point of the team and became a popular personality through the Welcome to Wrexham documentary.

Hughes left the club after making 115 appearances and scoring 136 goals. A long-serving member of the squad, she played a key role in the club’s promotion and helped establish the side in the Adran Premier
“I have had an amazing journey playing football, and I am not ready to stop,” said Hughes in a post on her Instagram on May 12.
“I have been given an opportunity now to move on from Wrexham, and this excites me for my future. I am currently seeking and exploring new ventures, so please don’t hesitate to make contact.”
The Adran Premier gets back underway from Sunday, 6th September, with the season running until Sunday, 4th April 2027.
