The New Saints claim sixth consecutive title

The New saints romped to a 4-0 victory over Bangor City this evening, with the win giving The New Saints their sixth consecutive league title and their eleventh in their history.

Live on the television cameras of Sgorio, The New Saints put in a more commanding performance than last week’s Welsh Cup victory over today’s opponent Bangor as they ran out convincing winners.

Winning the league title was the perfect way to return to league action after their semi-final Scottish League Cup defeat to St Mirren as well as losing 1-0 to Carmarthen Town three weeks ago.

This is the second piece of silverware that Craig Harrison’s side has picked up after their 4-0 League Cup win over Barry Town United in January at Cyncoed Campus.

Adrian Cieslewicz would start things off by opening the scoring before half time as he would get on the end of a low-cross to put the home side 1-0 up.

Jamie Mullan would then double the lead for The New Saints in the second half, before Saunders would rise above all from a corner to give The New Saints a 3 goal lead.

Mullan would then top the day off with a brace for himself as The New Saints knew what awaited them next, the lifting of the Welsh Premier League trophy.
