Monmouth Town seeking new manager after Ross Kennedy’s departure

Former Welsh Football League Division One champions Monmouth Town are in search of a new manager after the departure of Ross Kennedy.

Kennedy replaced Andrew Smith who took up a coaching role at non-league English side Cinderford Town.

The Kingfishers were relegated to Division Two after failing to obtain the Tier Two Licence. They finished 14th in Division One last season.

Monmouth’s next scheduled pre-season game is an away trip to Tuffley Rovers. Monmouth Town are scheduled to open their Welsh League campaign away at Garden Village at Stafford Common on the 11th August.

It’s the first time in six years that Monmouth Town will be playing in Division Two, having won the Division Two title back in 2012. Since then they secured a 7th placed finish in their first season, before winning the title, with players like Cardiff Met’s Eliot Evans in their squad. They then finished 6th, 12th, 14th and 14th

“Monmouth Town are urgently seeking a new manager for the coming season,” tweeted Monmouth Town.

Candidates would ideally hold a UEFA B license or be working towards it and contacts that would meet the requirements to compete at Welsh Football League Division Two level.”

Applicants are advised to contact Monmouth Town on their Twitter account via Direct Message or to contact the club via email through MonmouthTownFC@Gmail.com and rob@singletoncourt.co.uk. The closing date for applicants is the 31st of July.
