Caerau release plans for 500-seater-stand and new multi-purpose built community facility
Welsh Football League club Caerau have unveiled initial plans to build a new 500-seater stand and multi-purpose facility.
Currently playing in Division Three, the fourth tier of Welsh football, the club wants to improve facilities at their Caerau Athletic Ground.
It is in order to keep in line with new requirements which will be implemented in the coming years.
An artist’s impression of what the Bridgend club’s ground could look like has been shown to Invest Local Caerau.
The plans would put them in line with regulations set by the Welsh Premier League, to have a 500-seated stand. Welsh League Division One clubs currently require 250.
Caerau are two time Welsh League Division One winners, with their last success coming in the 1976/177 season.

Last season Arsenal legend Paul Merson played for Caerau, after an invite from club secretary Dan Hooper. Caerau led 3-2 but had their game abandoned due to floodlight failure, meaning Merson has yet to complete a game for the Bridgend side.
The club also hit the headlines earlier this season after losing 20-0 to STM Sports in the Welsh Football League Cup.
Caerau are currently second from bottom of Division Three, with eight games played. They’ve won twice, drawn once and lost five.
