Division Two side STM Sports have completed the signing of Barry Town United midfielder Marcus Jones.
Jones joins the Cardiff based club, having spent five months at Jenner Park Stadium, following his move from Taffs Well.
The Division Two promotion hopefuls fended off interest from other clubs to secure the addition of Jones.
The former Wellmen attacker commented on his move to his new club: “I’ve got a few friends at the club so I always try to watch STM when I get the opportunity.
“I’m really impressed with how they play, they try to play the right way and I feel I will fit in well at the club.
The club looks like it’s always moving forward which is another bonus.
They seem to be doing it right here and I definitely felt I wanted to be a part of it.
I had a few offers from other clubs but when STM showed interest my mind was made up
I just can’t wait to get going on Saturday.”
Marcus Jones’ new manager Dale Gardiner had been keeping tabs on Jones’ performances with Barry Town United this season.
He hadn’t been in Barry’s last four match day squads and most of his appearances have come from the substitutes bench.
In total, he has had just 192 minutes of action in a Barry shirt.
Gardiner lauded his newest signing: “I always felt he was the type of player that suited us, the way we play and I’m excited to watch him get started with us.
“The signing seems to have given the whole club a lift as well which is fantastic for everybody.
It’s also really nice to see a club like STM Sports attracting such quality from Welsh Premier level.”
The 26-year-old has made six appearances this season for Barry Town United, scoring once in the away win over Caernarfon Town.
STM’s newest recruit could make his debut this coming Saturday.

He could play alongside the returning Curtis Scotto.
Forward Curtis Scotto has been out for eleven months, after sustaining an injury against Pontardawe Town.
But now the prolific frontman has been given the all clear to return to playing football.
His manager said: “I was actually a player at the club when Curtis suffered his horrendous injury and one of my first priorities when I became manager was to check on his progress, that’s how important Curtis is to this club.
He’s the most prolific goal scorer this club has ever had, anyone who’s been involved with the club will tell you that. Having him get the all clear recently was like getting a brand new signing who can guarantee you goals, a managers dream.
I’m really pleased for Scotto. I’ve got a brilliant relationship with him and I saw first hand how difficult his recovery was. No one deserves this more than he does.
I’m really looking forward to playing a part in getting him back to full fitness. We will be patient with him and I’m sure he will be back to his best before we know it”.
STM Sports host Garden Village this Saturday at Llanrumney University Fields, with a scheduled 14:30 kick off on the 3G pitch.
